MARISSA HICKMAN is a rising senior studying music composition and music technology at the collegiate level. She has had pieces premiered in the Listen Up! Marathon, NJDAC concert series, and by ensembles including Split the Lark and Transient Canvas. In addition, she has worked on dance collaborations, short films, a web series project, and an original song for the On Broadway PATP summer program. She has also attended both the Alba Music Festival and Delian Academy for New Music. Through her compositional output, Marissa likes to explore different genres including electronic, original songs, choral music, classical, jazz, and new music.
“Hallucinations” is a fixed media piece that combines musique concréte, synthesizers, and improvisation. The piece experiments with added processing and effects to produce a unique and conceptual sound world designed to engage and transport the listener.
