Born in Israel, SIVAN COHEN ELIAS sees herself as an interdisciplinary composer. Cohen Elias’ works have been performed and commissioned by musicians such as Ensemble Klangforum Wien, Mosaik, and MusikFabrik, among others. Her work has appeared in festivals and venues in and around Europe, Israel, and the US such as IMD (Darmstadt), Impuls, Mozart saal, and Konzerthaus Wien. Numerous awards include the Boost! Project IMD; a fellowship at the Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart; and the ‘Impuls’ competition. Cohen Elias is currently a PhD candidate and a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University under the guidance of composers Chaya Czernowin and Hans Tutchku.
